Mark Freed was recently quoted in an article featured in the Financial Times, originally published on 20th June 2021. The article, Why Women Shy Away From Senior Finance Careers, discusses workplace stereotypes that impact women's careers. 

The dearth of senior women in finance embarrasses not only fintechs eager to build a gender-balanced workforce from scratch, but financial heavyweights spend liberally on diversity and inclusion initiatives, yet most fall short on achievement...

Mark talking about recruitment as part of the solution estimated that "up to 30 per cent of senior hires are made through referrals” — informal recommendations, usually men referring men.
