Spotlight’ on Rhian Bowler, E2W Careers Development Director

Who am I?

I’m a qualified career coach, HR professional, wife and mother, returning to the workplace this year after taking a career break to raise my children.  Previously worked in organisations such as Linklaters, Accenture, Booz Allen Hamilton and Rio Tinto supporting talented, motivated individuals, while working in HR and Development, and coached women through various stages of their career.  (I’m also is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and a Member and registered professional with the Career Development Institute (CDI)).

What does E2W ‘Careers’ offer?
E2W Careers is here to support its’ members at all stages of their career.  We want the service to reflect the needs of our members, and evolve with their requirements.  Our ‘Series of Conversations’ are designed to bring members together around ‘career’ topics, learning and sharing together.  Current support for members has focused on CV support, redesigning CV content to enhance skills and experience and how to position yourself to optimize opportunities. Many more ‘Conversations’ are planned over the year, including leadership and building resilience so keep an eye on the Events page for more details. You can register for these in the events section.  If there are topics you’d like to hear about, please let me know.

How can I support you?
Do you need support with your CV?  How to position yourself for your next role?  Building your confidence after a career break or redundancy, positioning yourself for leadership roles, or changing career directions.  Career coaching is available to you by phone, email, or in the group career calls.

Careers – Weekly highlights
Over the last week many of our members have benefited from personal coaching sessions on how to refresh their CV and position their skills more effectively.  Many CV’s have been created in an ‘old school’ way and don’t position skills and experience in a targeted, eye catching way that is attractive to busy recruiters.  Our E2W Members’ Library provides useful resources and tips to support CV development.
Our members enjoyed the first topic in the ‘Career Conversations’, ‘Positioning yourself for Success, sharing the challenges of updating a CV, how to ‘pitch’ to new employers, and how to explain career breaks. Thanks for all your contributions.  Over the next few weeks we will cover career moves, changing career direction and returning to work.  Sign up for membership to benefit from this member only sessions.
