October 11th is the International Day of the Girl

Mark.Freed / 25 Sep 2018

October 11th is the International Day of the Girl, a day that promotes girls' rights and highlights gender inequalities that remain between girls and boys.

We would like to celebrate the day by sharing some of your childhood aspirations, plus the stories behind the mentors or supporters who helped, and perhaps obstacles that stood in the way (whether you overcame them or not).  This will be compiled into an article published on 11 October in the hope that we might inspire girls at school, college and university today to believe in themselves, hunt out supporters and try to overcome hurdles.

We would be very grateful if you could answer the following questions and send them back to us.  Please elaborate as much as possible.

1.  What did you want to be when you were younger?  Doesn't have to be finance related, funny occupations welcome!
2.  Did you achieve this?
3.  Who supported you?  What did they do?
4.  Who or what stood in the way and why?

To ensure we hit the date, could you respond by Friday 6th October.

Many thanks for your support - please send your answers to mark.freed@e2w.co
