Diversity - Stop the talking and start doing!

It’s time that the doomsayers, the blockers, the talkers and those with a vested interest moved over and made way for the doers, the deliverers, the agents of change in the quest for a better, fairer and more diverse industry!

The statistics show that all the talk and promises, targets and commitments over the past three or four years have delivered very little...

We need:

  • Leaders who are committed to change, who will make the hard decisions and bring their business leaders, managers and staff with them. Talking and saying the right things will not deliver change.
  • A wholesale change in the way we recruit at all levels. If you do things in the same way you get the same results. E2W are proof that there is no shortage of great female talent. More often than not our candidates are the best people for the job (and team). Diversity needs to be prioritised over cost and time to hire. 
  • Working practices that ensure people are able to perform at their absolute best throughout the various stages of their careers and lives. Blocks need to be removed to career progression. Out dated and biased practices need to be eradicated and replaced with a modern approach to work, careers and progression.
  • Cultures need to change. We need to give cultural change a helping hand. Progress is so slow. Unacceptable behaviour needs to be called out and stamped out. The benefits of diversity will only be received by those whose cultures are inclusive - where everyone brings themselves to work and are valued and allowed to contribute.

Stand up and be counted. Let’s demand action!

We provide support to members of our community through our membership, offering coaching and career advice – aiming to help women achieve their career aspirations, whatever they may be.
