Update - The E2W team’s new challenge for The Young Women’s Trust

Katie.Dix / 22 Apr 2022

Many of you will remember back in 2019 the E2W team took part in a brutal commando style assault course and 5k run to raise money for our charity partner, Young Women’s Trust. Since then, we have successfully raised nearly ten thousand pounds, by our members and community completing various sporting challenges and pushing themselves for a fantastic cause.

It’s now time for the E2W team to step up and help push us over the £10,000 milestone, so we have decided to set ourselves a walking challenge. From the 12th April to the 12th May, we have targeted each person to walk 80km. Mark, who is more familiar on a bike has challenged himself to cycle 400km within this time frame.

The team have been taking advantage of the beautiful weather this week and spurred on by generous donations from our members, we have all managed to get more miles under our belts.

Sinitta has walked just over 14 miles already this week, and is set to get more miles under her belt this weekend with some trips out to the park with her son, Mason. This week, she was lucky enough to walk along the beach and even stopped off for a picnic during her lunch break.

Tina is enjoying daily walks averaging over 8k, in the lovely countryside in West Peckham, Kent.

My puppy is keeping me busy on our daily walks, and I have managed just over 20 miles already...although they are often slow and very stop start depending on how many squirrels and other dogs we see.

Melanie enjoyed spending some time with her daughters who were both back from University, with a long walk along the beach in the sunshine!

Tara has shown her commitment to this challenge (and her competitive streak) by purchasing a Fitbit so she can track all her steps and miles. She has been a busy bee this week walking over 10 miles.

We'll keep you updated on our progress, and as promised here are some pictures below from everyone's week.
