Man Group are working with E2W to implement an ‘active inclusion’ recruitment strategy

Tina.Freed / 20 Mar 2019

As regular readers will know, E2W has been working with Man Group for a while now, helping them to implement a more ‘active inclusion’ approach to recruiting and retaining women.

We have six strategies as part of our active inclusion approach:

  • Commitment
  • Statistics
  • Value Proposition
  • Time and cost of hire
  • Candidate experience
  • Talent Pools

It’s great to see that the first of those, and perhaps the most important, commitment, is evident at Man.  Man is a signatory of the Women in Finance Charter which combined with their own understanding of the benefits of gender parity is driving them towards achieving a more diverse workforce.

We have known about their commitment to gender diversity for quite some time thanks to their engagement with E2W and their interest in what we do but now we’re pleased to see that that sentiment is coming through in the targets as well.

Man Group has set the following targets:

25% women in senior management by 2020. Their existing figures in this regard are encouraging – 16% of senior management were women in 2016 and this has risen to 22% in 2018.
25% of women on its board within a year and a third in the longer term

“We place great importance on the development of women at all levels across Man Group, to ensure that they are able to reach their full potential and progress to senior roles. Introducing this target is therefore well-aligned with our efforts and initiatives to support and develop women within the firm.”

We look forward to continuing to work alongside Man Group and to assist them in achieving their targets. We’ll keep you updated on their progress!

If you would like to hear more about our active inclusion strategies, to talk through how the Women in Finance Charter could benefit your organisation or to hear how we can help you attract more women for your roles, do give me, Mark Freed, a call.
