E2W Risk Team Event Report

The E2W business events aim to bring women in financial services together to network, learn and support each other.
We recently enjoyed a professional presentation on risk limit framework and risk infrastructure and how these challenges impact profitability, delivered by E2W member Olga Venosa, a senior Counterparty Risk Manager at UBS. The comprehensive talk covered the lack of recognised definition of enterprise risk management, regulatory requirements, market and credit risk inconsistencies, and how developing good practices and a solid risk appetite framework can prevent unstable earnings and lost revenue. The following discussion agreed progress has been made over the last ten years, but there is so much still to improve in market and credit risk infrastructure.
A particular thanks to Olga for her presentation and hosting at UBS. The next meeting ‘Networking in Risk’ will be in June; more details to follow shortly.
