At the inaugural meeting of the risk team a spirited discussion was held on several risk topics including, operational risk, the 3 lines of defence, what is the aim of the regulator and the impact of change on businesses? Is there too much regulation and what is the cost and resource impact?
The format of future events will include general meetings to discuss various risk topics and panel discussions on specific topics which can be open to all levels of risk professionals. This will support our aim of providing access to information and role models at all levels to build a strong pipeline of women in risk in the business.
In light of the discussions, the next event will be a panel discussion on the distinction between the 3 lines of defence & managing change from the top.
