Can you support Rose and Madeleine with a placement year within Financial Services?

Katie.Dix / 04 Nov 2019

Can you help two exceptional young women to take their next step forward into a career in financial services? In 2017 the E2W community sponsored and mentored Rose and Madeleine, to take the CISI Fundamentals of Financial Services course. Rose and Madeleine, were then still at school studying A Levels, passed with flying colours! The course confirmed their desire to follow a career in Financial Services.

Since then, we have kept in touch to provide support along their journey, through to University. Rose and Madeleine are now in their second year, where they are required to complete a year in industry. Part of the ethos of our community is mutual support, therefore we are asking you to keep an eye out for any one year placement opportunities that would be suitable for Madeleine and Rose. They are exceptional young ladies with real drive and determination. It would be fantastic to support them with their aspirations to work in Financial Services and create a cohort of future senior women in the industry.

If you are hiring, or have contacts in your community who are advertising for a year in industry placement, please send the name of the contact or a link to the application to Katie who will share them with Rose and Madeleine.

A little bit about Madeleine and Rose.

Rose Boetang

I am a highly driven and enthusiastic Economics Undergraduate in my second year of studies at the University of Kent. I pride myself on my analytical and IT ability as well as my interpersonal skills. I am fascinated by the finance sector, particularly in the research, data analysis and consultancy divisions. A placement in this sector would allow me to gain a detailed insight into the practical application of finance to real world situations. I love to meet new people and interact with them in a variety of ways, I am always ready for new challenges as well as to learn and gain as many experiences as possible and want to push myself to reach my full potential in everything I do.

Madeleine Opoku

I am currently a second year student at the University of Essex, studying Economics. My first year of University was a great experience and I achieved a first class. I am currently the Treasurer for the African- Caribbean society in my university for 2019/2020. Prior to university, I studied Mathematics, Economics and History at A-level. Through various programmes, I have gained commercial awareness and an understanding of the financial and banking industry. I am willing to gain a deeper understanding of the core aspects which are central to economics and ways in which market activities help to provide financial products to a wide range of clients. I have become very interested in the Compliance and Financial Crime division of the financial sector however, I am broadly looking for a placement year in a number of areas to gain as much exposure as possible.

If you would like to get in touch or know of suitable opportunities please contact katie.dix@e2w.co or call 01732 897728.
