Tax Assistant

Early 2021 start date

A member and close friend of E2W established her firm nearly 8 years’ ago with a focus on cross-border private client tax return preparation and advisory work. They have a full service accountancy offering working with entrepreneurs and property investors as well as executives and high net worth individuals. Owing to the cross-border aspect, quite a large proportion of their clients are internationally mobile.

As the role developed it would start to include answering ad-hoc queries from clients and HMRC as well as some of the supporting activities such as drafting client risk assessments and invoicing.

The role would include UK and possibly US individual tax return preparation, including speaking to clients about the information we need for the return preparation and liaising with HMRC.

The role requirements:

  • ATT qualified or interested in studying towards ATT or a similar qualification
  • An interest in pursuing a career in personal tax
  • Confident in talking to clients
  • Numerate, good attention to detail

In terms of what the role offers, the client would support training to Chartered Tax Adviser or equivalent. They are currently a team of 7, so each staff member plays a substantial role in the success of the company. Therefore, there is plenty of opportunity for an ambitious individual to progress based on merit as the firm grows and develops and we work with a wide range of interesting and international clients so the work is varied and challenging. The client also offer flexible contracts and home working options. 

Geographically, they are based in Somerset, however this could be a remote working role with face to face contact for training etc where appropriate.
