• Extensive knowledge and practical experience of Solvency 2 and UK-specific regulations for insurance companies, particularly in the context of asset and ALM optimisation.
• Proven experience and accomplishment, within top-tier financial institutions, in structuring high-value structured asset, ALM and multi-product solutions for insurance companies in the UK.
• Existing relationships with a broad range of senior clients, up to at least CIO level.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities, working under pressure to meet deadlines, and the ability to respond creatively and quickly in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• The ability to manage their own schedule and time commitments.
• Effective team player with an entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work closely with colleagues at different levels of seniority and experience, to inspire and demonstrate leadership with those beyond their own team.
• Exceptional quantitative skills — experience with financial analysis and/or accounting specific to the insurance industry is required.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Solid written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are a must. Strong written communication is necessary; the ability to convey thoughts clearly and succinctly and to communicate pertinent complex information in a clear and organized manner.
• Flexibility and initiative are essential requirements for the role.
• Prior experience within a leading UK insurer or as an asset / ALM consultant to UK insurers would be valuable. Prior experience in working with UK pension funds as investors would also be useful.
