As a boy my father, uncles and male role models all asked me the question. The question all boy’s get asked. What football team do you support?
As a father, an uncle, an adult male I asked the same question of my sons, my nephews, the sons of my friends.
My sister was never asked and I rarely asked the question of my daughter, nieces, or daughters of my friends.
It is great to see, with the rise of women’s football and rugby, into mainstream how clubs and sponsors are reacting. Well done to Men for Inclusion client Standard Chartered Bank and Liverpool Football Club for this amazing initiative.
Help throw away the straight jacket of complying with outdated social norms by asking everyone or no-one what football team they support.
